It’s been a few weeks since the announcement, and I’m still coming to terms with the closing of the Monsters Cafe at Universal Studios Florida. I was never really a giant fan of the food. However, I would stop in to grab or snack to support my favorite monsters.
Marcela and I felt right at home with all the decor, statues, and posters from Universal Studios’ golden era of monsters. Every stop ended us with taking turns sitting on the electric chair at the restaurant’s entrance.
I’m not looking at it from a negative angle, though, cause I believe the closing signifies something much more significant. A rumored Universal Monsters-themed land is being constructed at the upcoming EPIC Universe park.
The Monster Cafe may be closed, but soon, until our monsters rise again. In the meantime, we’ve got the Universal Studios Monsters Tribute Store and Halloween Horror Nights to tide us over.
